Heaven On Earth

Last week I was inspired to paint these two paintings from what I call my 'Spirit of the Lowcountry Collection'.

The first is entitled 'Heaven On Earth'. I painted this piece this past weekend at Palmetto Bluff in Hilton Head/Bluffton, SC. When I arrived at Palmetto Bluff the beauty and spirituality was overwhelming. I felt a since of peace and serenity that I could not explain. It felt like Heaven on Earth. The second is entitled 'Daughters of the New South'.
Woven in the fabrics of the dresses of the little girls are these three words, Strength, Patience, and Passion. These words were inspired by a quote from Harriet Tubman

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." -Harriet Tubman
