Naturally Me Kidz was designed and created by artist Sonja Griffin Evans out of the admiration of her little niece's ability to love her natural self. Evans applauds her niece's positive attitude and her desire, at such an early age, to be an example for others to love and embrace themselves the way God created them.
Griffin Evans' knows how important it is for every little girl to feel valued, accepted, and think good things about herself. Negative thoughts about ourselves often come from outside people whose opinions we value and from whom we seek love and acceptance. Her Naturally Me Kidz is a way for little girls of color to see images of themselves included, from a positive viewpoint, in the world around them. Sonja's hopes for Naturally Me Kidz is to use her art to help teach them how to love and embrace themselves. Her desire is for them to always remember that they are beautiful and important; showing them "It's okay to be naturally me!"
